Children's Science Festival, Karaikal

A five day Children's Science Festival was held from 3rd October to 7th October 2011, in the Govt. High School, Kovilpathu, Karaikal in which more than 100 children from Yanam, Puducherry, Mahe and Karaikal participated. The festival was catalyzed and supported by the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Puducherry in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education.

In the festival there were five activity corners which were Science in Action, Mathematics, Nature Study, Explaining Miracles & Imagination and Creativity. Fifty children who came from outside Karaikal stayed with the 50 host children from Karaikal in their homes during the night and took part in the activity corners during day time. The organizing committee of PSF Karaikal District did an excellent job of organizing the festival with excellent food and other facilities. The programme coordinator Mr.S.Vivekanandan, Dr.K.Sambandan, President of PSF Karaikal, Mr.Visheswaramurthy, Treasurer, and other EC members of PSF Karaikal district all deserve our praises.
