Make Science 2011: Final Prize Ceremony and Video Conference: 9th June 1.00pm.

The Final Prize Giving Ceremony and the Live Video Conference of the Faites de la science (Make Science Competitions) 2011 was held at the University of Paris, South 11, Paris on the 9th of June 2011 at 10 am Paris time. The same function was held in Puducherry from 1.30pm to 2.30pm at the Conference Hall, Third Floor, Directorate of School Education, Puducherry.

The programme started with the screening of the DVD documentation of the Make Science projects 2011. Later Dr.Phillip Masson, Dean of the Faculty of Science, University of Paris, South 11 declared the winners of the programme live through video conferencing. The first prize went to the Biochar project carried out by ASN Govt. Middle School, Mudaliarpet. Three second prizes were announced which went to the Lycee Francais, TKRSP Govt. Higher Secondary School, Koravallimedu and the ASN Govt. Middle School, Mudaliarpet. The function in Paris was coordinated by Dr.Sylvie Salamitou.

The programme was also addressed by Mr.Krishnaraju, Joint Director of School Education, Dr.V.Krishnan, OSD, State Training Centre, Dept of School Education.

Another attraction of the programme was the interaction of the French and Puducherry students on what projects they carried out as part of the International Make science programme.

Every year, 12 projects from the Pondicherry Government schools are selected to the finals of the International Faites de la science programme and among these, four best projects are given prizes and cash awards.
